Structural Movement Monitoring
Subsidence, settlement, heave, sway, bouncy floors, bulging walls, cracks, expansion and contraction are all forms of structural movement. Such movement occurs all the time, and usually its magnitude is so small it passes unnoticed. Only when distortions and cracks threaten the use or safety of the structure need we be concerned.
However, the occupiers had frequently never seen that crack in the wall prior to the contractors starting work nearby.
Distortions can threaten the safety of a building structure, particularly older buildings.
In officially listed, historic or important buildings such as hospitals it can be very important to monitor even smallest ground movement and hairline crack.
We have over 600 different style of strain gauges to choose from thereby offering a gauge for almost every application. Detectors for metal and concrete, to plastics and plaster.
We are very aware that our measuring equipment may be installed in hostile environments and are therefore available with transmission facilities installed directly into the gauge.
Our equipment can detect movement from .001 of a millimetre and will immediately sound an alert by way of text, email or an alarm system should predetermined parameters be exceeded.
